Music review analysis of Himesh Reshammiya's album My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves (2008).
Tum Mile
Only in terms of music arrangement, this song reminds of Anu Malik style in the 90's.
Therefore, it shows that it is child's play for Himesh to cover bases of other composers while the rest cannot even think to create his typical unique Indian melody or Sufi Rwak singing style (with twists-n-turns).
However, in this song that is very unlike Himesh, there are still traces of pre-ABA style.
The song begins with very likeable string based instrument followed bazz guitar and underlying beats.
Jayesh's feel good croons are likeable as usual.
The line JAANE MERE DIL KO is very much pre-ABA Himesh styled.
The 4 time string tune from 1.00 to 1.04, 1.16 to 1.19 is also feel good.
Between mukhda & 1st stanza, a wicked sound along with pleasant mouth organ along with Jayesh's subtle croons give a feel good effect.
1st stanza
Soothing subtle vocals by KK.
The HIGHLIGHT is the string instrument pattern from 2.33 to 2.35 that Himesh has used countless times in his pre-ABA songs.
Between 1st & 2nd stanza, the lovely string tune creates a wonderful effect.
2nd stanza
Himesh's asks sunithi to sing in her unusual self style. Again it is very feel good melody.
The BEST part of the song is Sunithi's Alto lines in lower pitch range from 3.56 to 4.10 that showcase her versatility, especially the lines NA THAME from 3.56 to 3.57, JAANE MERE DIL KO from 4.04 to 4.06 that strike a chord
The song finishes with feel good mouth organ.
Highlights of this song:
1. KK's and Sunithi's soothing and subtle vocals (very unlike them by default setting as KK is sharp and Sunithi is penetrating)
2. The feel good mouth piece, string tune and Jayesh's tamed down vocals also very unlike himself.
3. The line JAANE MERE DILKO which is very much pre-ABA Himesh styled.
The good thing about this song is firstly a new style of melody is always welcome and the old traces of Himesh – the composer are also welcome, and this song has both of these elements whereby Himesh was mostly giving Sufi Rwak compositions.
The house hold string flick from 2.33 to 2.34 was also similarly used in DEEWANAPAN DEEWANGEE (MAIN AISA HI HOON) at 3.09 and 4.52 and in CHURA LIYA HAI TUMNE TITLE TRAX from 1.28 to 1.30 and 4.30 for sahi desired effect.
