Music review analysis of Himesh Reshammiya's album Footpath (2003).

Soorat Pe Teri Pyar Aave

Pre-ABA era, there had to be at least 1 peppy/item number in HR albums.

It wasn't only about the beats but melody plus rhythm i.e. rhythmic melody.

Well, this time he is roped in for a guest song so he decided to go the peppy way to get the listener into the groove.

The song opens with a thunderous sound similar to start of DILLI KI SARDI from ZAMEEN that gives an INTERNATIONAL FEEL, followed by Hema Sardesai's desperation feel vocals.

The bazz sound hits it and the groovy tune sur behind Jayesh gandhi's croons is effective especially from 0.30 to 0.35

The seductive female vocals in lines AAIYA VE add to the overall effect.

The build-up from here on is good.

A feel good tune pattern plays from 0.40 to 0.49

The catchy line MAAHIYA VE (both female and male), followed by awesome energetic male vocals HAAA from 1.38 to 1.39 & 1.55 to1.56 make an impact.

The 3 heavy drum hits from 1.21 to 1.22, 1.39 to 1.40 & 1.56 to 1.57 give sahi desired effect.

The mukhda line, TUM PE DIL (feel good twist) is typical HR melody and the best in the song, with emphasis on KK's lines from 1.56 to 2.06

Jayesh's AAIYA VE behind hema's vocals and female chorus's AAIYA VE behind KK's vocals enhances feel good effect.

Between mukhda & 1st stanza, a feel good harmonica tune pattern plays followed by Jayesh's croons.

1st stanza

Hema sings with desperation seductive feel vocals from 2.26 to 2.54

From 2.46 to 2.55 are the catchier lines of the stanza with subtle faint sooth female chorus.

The feel good groovy tune pattern from 2.58 to 3.00 greatly enhances the impact of Hema's lines from 2.56 to 2.58

Between 1st & 2nd stanza, the classical sitar which is an awesome mix in an otherwise western number teases the classical pulse of the listener.

2nd stanza

It is better than 1st stanza, courtesy due to KK's middle octave impact vocals.

His lines, MERI MERI (awesome middle octave impact) from 3.37 to 3.39, KHWAHISH (awesome middle octave impact) at 3.53

His lines from 3.57 to 4.07 strike a chord due to penetrating middle octave impact vocals along with subtle faint sooth female chorus.

The feel good groovy tune pattern from 4.10 to 4.12 greatly enhances the impact of KK's lines from 4.08 to 4.10

From 4.46 to end, the soothing female chorus which are a musical treat cast their spell with great results.

Highlights of this song:

1. KK's penetrating middle octave vocals, with emphasis in 2nd stanza.

2. Soothing female chorus, seductive female whispers and energetic male croons HAAI that give kick.

3. Underlying peppy rhythmic beats, feel good groovy pattern, feel good harmonica piece, 3 heavy drum hits and classical sitar which is an interesting mix.

4. The tune of TUM PE DIL that has HR's trademarp stamp on it.

This is not your Nikamma kiya hai, Bardaasht nahi kar sakta or Jaanabe Ali, but it makes for a decent hear once a while especially when the listener is playing a continuous playlist of such HR numbers.
